Before GMMG made Super Cars, before SLP was converting Z28s into Super Sports, before there was even a production model ZR1 there was the “Snake Skinner”. In the late 80’s, GM’s ZR1 SS Prototype was their answer to Dodge’s new Viper announcement…dubbed the “Snake Skinner”.
That prototype led to the ZR1, which led to the ZR1 wheels getting used by SLP on their Camaro SS cars.
Today, one of the most popular mods for these cars is to add a set of “Snake Skinners”, ZR1 and SS style wheels, to set apart your 1982-2002 F-Body.
It’s a beautiful 5 star design that’s as eye catching today as it was 30 years ago when it was first designed. It’s timeless design looks great on ANY 1982-2002 F-Body be it Camaro or Firebird models.

We recommend using two of these as your rear wheels and running our 17″ x 9.5″ wheels as your fronts. Some massaging of the inner fender well (above the bump stop area) might be needed even when running the 11″ on the rear depending on your set up. We’ve seen people run 11″ wheels up front but, generally, it’s for an Auto Cross Setup that the car is built for.
